Support for transition to aged care

After losing her husband, an elderly lady decided to sell her home and move into a local retirement village. Understandably, she was very anxious about the home sale, legal and practical ramifications of relocating, and the physical and emotional toll of the impending move.
To reduce her anxiety, Marriott Oliver worked closely with our elderly client. Through each step in the process, we clearly explained her options before proceeding so she really understood the process.
On each occasion we visited our client in her home to go through the legal documents. We took time to explain complex issues and chat about her upcoming move so she was entirely comfortable.
Marriott Oliver negotiated with the retirement village to secure an interest free grace period which alleviated financial pressure immediately after her move. At our client’s request, we liaised regularly and closely with her family members to update them on the move.
Our client moved into her new home at the retirement village confident she had made the right choices and that all her arrangements were in place. The interest free period meant she did not suffer financially while her house was still on the market. Her home sold soon after with minimum fuss.
After the smooth transition facilitated by Marriott Oliver, this elderly lady commenced a new chapter in her life with confidence that her affairs were entirely in order.
